Fact sheet
- Product: AImori, a browser extension for Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome from version 110.
- Purpose: AImori detects, for example, IBANs, passwords, names and customer data – also in images and spreadsheets – and warns before they are sent to an AI chat.
- Supported AI services: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot in the browser. Microsoft blocks extensions on Copilot in Edge; in Chrome it is protected. On 47 further known AI sites, companies can show a notice or block the site.
- Price: Free for everyone, no account and no sign-up.
- License: Open source under the GNU AGPL v3, source code on GitHub.
- Where to get it: Chrome Web Store, for Chrome and Edge. Updates arrive automatically.
- Privacy: The check runs only locally in the browser. The extension has no network access, no telemetry and stores no texts.
- When something is found: A slim bar above the input field shows what kind of data was detected. Users can redact, cancel or, if allowed and after confirming, send anyway.
- For companies: Can be rolled out centrally via Group Policy and Intune, also under your own name; evidence report built in.
- Funding: Sponsors, associations and partners.
- Version: 0.1.0, as of 18 October 2026.
- Limits: AImori helps against mistakes and does not guarantee that confidential data never reaches an AI chat. It does not replace clear rules or training. Images are checked on a best-effort basis; PDF and Word files are not checked, and freely paraphrased content without a recognisable pattern can slip through.
Using the logos
- Do not distort, rotate or recolour the logos. Scaling up or down is allowed.
- Use the light logo on light backgrounds and the dark logo on dark backgrounds.
- Leave some space around the logo. Below 24 pixels, use only the signet without the wordmark.
