Country packs and automatic detection

National numbers look different in every country. That's why AImori checks them in country packs: 52 countries plus the EU pack. Which ones apply is detected automatically by AImori – you don't need to set anything.

On this page

IBAN, credit cards, credentials, contact data and passport lines belong to the global packs and apply everywhere (Settings).

How the automatic mode decides

  1. Time zone: your device's time zone (e.g. Europe/Zurich) maps to a country using a fixed table. If a zone matches two countries (Büsingen: DE or CH, Brussels: BE or NL), the language region or language decides, otherwise the main country.
  2. First browser language: its region counts too, e.g. de-CH → Switzerland, pt-BR → Brazil. Without a region (e.g. de) none counts.
  3. Further browser languages only count if the time zone gives no country (e.g. UTC). An en-US that Chrome and Edge often add automatically never activates US.
  4. Language only: if the time zone and regions give nothing, the first browser language applies: German → DE, AT, CH; French → FR, BE, CH; Italian → IT, CH; Dutch → NL, BE; Spanish → ES; Portuguese → PT, BR; other languages → their main country (e.g. Swedish → SE, Japanese → JP). English, Arabic and languages without a pack country give no country.
  5. EU pack: if a country from the EU, the EEA or Switzerland is among them, the EU pack is added.

The settings always show which packs apply and why. If you regularly handle US data in Switzerland, add US yourself.

Local and without location

  • AImori only reads the time zone and browser languages that your browser already knows.
  • No network, no IP address, no location request, no extra permissions.
  • None of this is stored. Detection always runs afresh – while you travel, a new time zone applies on every AI site loaded afterwards.

Choose myself

  1. Settings → Detection → "What is detected".
  2. For the country packs, choose "Choose myself". The detected countries are preselected.
  3. Tick or untick countries – this is saved immediately.

Back to automatic mode: choose "Automatic (time zone and language)"; your own selection is discarded.

For IT

  • countryPacks fixes the packs (country codes and EU), always takes priority and switches automatic mode off.
  • autoCountryPacks locks the mode: true to "Automatic", false to "Choose myself".
  • Automatic mode never changes the global packs (globalPacks).
